| The Annual Tree Lighting Celebration at The Westbury Recreation Facility |
Saturday, December 3, 2001
|
The annual tree lighting celebration at the Westbury Recreation facility on Post Ave in Westbury, was held this evening. In the largest turnout ever, our village residents were treated to a musical extravaganza presented by the children of the grade schools of our district. Holiday cheer was provided by the Westbury/Carle Place Chamber of Commerce board members, dispensing hot chocolate and cakes and donuts, and cookies. Our mayor,Peter Cavallaro along with several Village officials
were on hand to welcome the residents of our village. After the musical interlude, the crowd ventured outdoors to witness the lighting of our beautiful tree. The Westbury Fire Dept. provided a firetruck bearing St, Nick, and distributed candy canes to the children. If you missed it this year, make a note now to turn out for the 2012 celebration. Bring the children, they will enjoy a true lifting of the holiday season.
